Branch of the

Transnational Employment Centre of the

YOUTHShare Project in Italy

The Project

“YOUTHShare: A Place for Youth in Mediterranean EEA: Resilient and Sharing Economy for NEETs”

YOUTHShare: A Place for Youth in Mediterranean EEA: Resilient and Sharing Economy for NEETs” is a project funded by the Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment. It aims at reducing youth unemployment in coastal and island regions of Mediterranean European Economic Area (EEA) by advancing young NEETs skills in trans-locally resilient economic sectors such as social enterprises, agri-food production and circular economies. A focused partnership of interested countries, such as Greece, Italy, Spain and Cyprus, following the good practice of Norway, will boost the potential of social entrepreneurship and sharing economy in order to reduce economic disparities and increase social integration by means of an integrated multi-scalar methodology and practice.

Mediterranean regions face significantly high unemployment rates, especially among young persons between 25 and 29 years old. The economic crisis, the geographical hindrance and massive migration flows, contribute to the increase the socio-economic pressure to tackle unemployment. YOUTHShare aims at handling youth unemployment, stimulating trans-local resources, sharing European best practices and boosting NEETs potential in Mediterranean EEA.

The Branch

YOUTHShare establishes a Transnational Employment Centre with four branches, one per partner country (Cyprus – Greece – Italy – Spain).

The Italian Branch is located in Potenza, at the headquarter of the Comunità Montana Alto Basento.

The branch will engage young NEETs, aged from 25 to 29 years old, with a special focus on women and migrants. The Centre, run by a Key Account Manager (KAM), will enhance NEETs employability in resilient sectors and social/ sharing economies.

It offers innovative services, support, motivation and practical assistance to interested NEETs, who will benefit from the centre’s career counselling, training courses, mentoring, networking and matching ability, to bridge the gap between potential employers and young unemployed people.

« Work should be a great joy but still for many people it is torment, torment of not having it, torment of doing a job that is useless and does not serve a noble purpose »

Adriano Olivetti, an Italian engineer, politician and industrialist who strongly supported the idea that business should be addressed to the benefits of the whole society.
